Similar to the Half Log Bench but without all the weight, this Glacier Country plank style bench from Montana Woodworks is handcrafted from solid pine. The top is a solid panel of edge glued, U.S. grown pine. After laminating, the panel is sanded with different grits of sandpaper going from course to fine, to give it a very smooth finish. The log rails are solid lodge-pole pine and attached to each other with the trusted mortise and tenon method. This one of a kind "Glacier Country" look is achieved by removing the outer bark while leaving the inner stratum or "Cambium" layer. It is lacquered with three coats of premium grade, clear lacquer.
